Due to the current global situation of COVID-19, we are trying to do as much of our interview process remotely. We are always open to meet you in person if you are up for it.

Learn which feedback you can expect from us during the interview process:

Engineering

Total time invest until offer: ~ 3.5 - 5 hours

  1. Intro Chat with People Team 30 min, if applicable
    1. Get to know each other
    2. Share insights about us and the position
    3. Answer your questions
    4. Skill check
    5. Check basic requirements for the role, salary expectation, expected start date, visa, etc.
    6. Intro to the interview process
  2. Interview with Narbeh (VP Engineering) 60 min
    1. Check if your experience matches our expectations
    2. Give you insights about the role
    3. Discussion on technical (system design, scalability, extensibility and quality best practices in developing software solutions) and agile topics
  3. Technical Interview / Pair Programming 90-120 min
  4. Interview with Ernests (CTO) 60 min
    1. Check if you will click well with the team
    2. Chat about your values and aspirations as engineer, as well as what values we cherish at Layer

Product

Total time invest until offer: ~ 3.5 hours

  1. Interview with Dave (CPO) / Swathi (Senior PM) 60 min
    1. Intros (10 min)
    2. Check if your experience matches our expectations
    3. Give you insights about the role
    4. Discussion on product and agile topics
  2. Live Case Study with 2-3 members of the Product Engineering teams 90 min
  3. Interview with Ernests (CTO) or Narbeh (VP of Engineering) 30 min
    1. Get-to know the engineering leads
    2. Check-in on your technical know-how and experiences
  4. Offer Talk with Dave 30min
    1. Share offer details & contract
    2. Q&A

People & Talent

Total time invest until offer: ~ 2.5 - 4.5 hours

  1. Intro Chat with People Team 45-60 min
    1. Get to know each other
    2. Share insights about us and the position
    3. Skill check
    4. Answer all of your questions
    5. Check basic requirements for the role, salary expectation, expected start date, visa, etc.
    6. Intro to the interview process
  2. Founder Chat with Consti (CEO) + 1x co-founder 45-60 min
  3. (Optional) Interactive Workshop with Consti (CEO) + 1x co-founder 60 min
  4. Founder Chat + Team with Consti (CEO) + remaining co-founders 45-60 min
  5. Offer Talk with Consti (CEO) + Head of People 30min
    1. Share offer details & contract
    2. Q&A
